Kingsley's Crossing
19/12/2006 by Chris Prettejohn.
A brilliant website which has the story of Kingsley, a young Cameroonian who makes a highly dangerous trip to France via the Sahara desert. There are pictures on the ParisMatch website (in French!)

UN Downgrades Man's Impact on the Climate
16/12/2006 by Chris Prettejohn.
The Telegraph (a right wing, business favouring paper so read with care) has highlighted a UN report which states that Global Warming may be being controlled by the oceans.
In the final draft of its fourth assessment report, to be published in
February, the panel reports that the level of carbon dioxide in the
atmosphere has accelerated in the past five years. It also predicts
that temperatures will rise by up to 4.5 C during the next 100 years,
bringing more frequent heat waves and storms. So still bad news.
What's going to happen when the oceans suddenly release all that heat??
