Zero Carbon House
23/11/2006 by Chris Prettejohn.
An interesting article about the possibility of building a zero emission house. Constructed from timber, using solar and wind renewable energy , a heat pump and even incorporating a hydroponic system within a high tech greenhouse it promotes itself as having no direct effect on the environment.

Ice Storm!
09/11/2006 by Chris Prettejohn.

Wow. Ever seen an ice storm?
This took place in Lake Léman (also known as Lake Geneva), Switzerland, in January 2005.
One news account, for example, reported that:
Geneva, several boats sank under the weight of the ice. Several minor
roads were closed, passage having been made impossible by the ice and
the snowdrifts. In downtown Geneva, Servette Street was closed after
the rupture of a water pipeline transformed the roadway into a true
skating rink.

'Only 50 Years left' for Sea Fish
02/11/2006 by Chris Prettejohn.
This week has been a bad news week.
Global warning at the start of the week with the Stern Report
which warned of serious consequences if we continue to ignore the serious issue of global warming.
And now today the BBC is reporting on the fact that there is less than 50 years left of sea fish stocks in the worlds sea fisheries.
To cap all this depressing news I also got a speeding ticket for doing 41mph in a 30mph zone!! Well I suppose I should be driving slower if I want to reduce my CO2 emissions,,,
